Growing Up Global by Homa Tavangar

Homa Sabet Tavangar has written a special book called Growing Up Global, a hands on guide to raising your children to live in a global society. The book is being released by Random House Publishers on August 25th.

I've known and loved Homa and her beautiful family (husband, daughters, parents, in-laws, sister, brother, nieces and nephews, etc!) for many years. This is such an exciting thing to be happening for a special friend. Click on Homa's picture above for her amazing bio.
Please check the Growing up Global website and consider preordering the book on Amazon.com!

"Growing up Global offers fascinating ideas for giving young people opportunities to become truly global citizens. Learning about the customs and culture of others around the globe enriches our lives so much and can only lead to better understanding and cooperation for generations to come."

It's a Happy Talent to Know How to Play

I always believe the fortune in my cookie and last night was no exception. "It is a happy talent to know how to play."

With that in mind and heart, I'm packing up all my shark puppets, mermaid tails, pirate hats and hand carved wooden parrots, fish puppets, Holy Mackerel the big orange Fishing Boat, mermaid baby dolls and more to go to the Healing Arts Coffee House this evening to PLAY. This will be an adult audience. We'll be performing "The Capture and Return of Bald Beatrice the Baby Mermaid" for each other. (See details in the previous post.) I'll report on what happened tomorrow....

While on the subject of play, here's a link to a wonderful, playful - as in "full of play" website I stumbled upon while wandering around the internet a few days ago.

Marilyn Scott-Waters is an artist who designs amazing paper toys, and offers them for you to download, put together and play with them! She also offers holiday cards, bags, boxes, origami, valentines, and epherema, all for you to make.

Click on the Toymaker image and you will be taken into Marilyn's amazing world........she also has a book for sale and a mailing list for new toys and news.....
