How Does Our Garden Grow Debut

Last week Sandy and I did our first two performances of How Does Our Garden Grow! The first one was the first one, and the second one was perfect. They were at the same school back to back. I give the show an A for ADORABLE! ......The music was fantastic and I can't wait to do it again and again.

We will get some good pictures of kids in the show as soon as we do it in a public venue. Most of our bookings for the summer are in private schools. I would give anything for a picture of one of the little boys who was a deer last week (predator) because he was EXCEPTIONALLY CUTE walking around the garden with his shaker. Also seeing those tomato hats on real live kids just makes you laugh out loud.

As of this moment our first open to the public performance will be at LaMott Library in Elkins Park on June 27th at 11:00.......

There are about 90 costumes with matching props....including about 6 each of the following characters
FARMERS: of course with their rakes, shovels and seeds.
CROPS: corn, carrots, peas, tomatoes, watermelon, strawberries, lettuce
SUPPORTS: Love, Sunshine, Watering Cans, Worms, Scarecrows!
PREDATORS: Deer, Groundhogs and Stinkbugs
POLLINATORS: Birds, Bees, Lady and Manbugs, Butterflies

For now Sandy managed to snap some pictures of a few of the costumes and props before the kids came in.....

butterly wings, wands and crowns
bird costumes and wands, bee costumes
and wands
love, sunshine, watering cans.....

Colorful Summer Purses from ArtyPantz

Summer is my favorite time of year. We live in an old stone farmhouse and our surroundings are  just so lush and beautiful. Summer is the season that The Phoenixville Farmer's Market starts.  I love it when local artisans join the food producers every other Saturday morning. The market takes place every Saturday from 9 to 1:00. It's a fantastic community effort and grows larger and more colorful each year. Here are some of the purses I've been making to sell there in my booth, along with other things. (I'll be offering a pattern for these purses too.)

Next Saturday I'll be doing Hooray 4 Bugs! at the Barlow Flower Farm in New Jersey, so won't be at the market, but will be at the July 8th market. Hope to see you there, or in New Jersey!

This one with the bird pocket is for sale in my store.

They are nice and roomy, with a big pocket on the outside and lined with contrasting fabrics. The ones with the appliqued flowers on them are lined with soft organic cotton.

ArtyPantz Booth at DVAEYC

The Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children Conference was great. The booth was just the right amount of busy enough that I was able to greet and meet most of the people who came in. New  friends and contacts were made for ArtyPantz storytelling events for the summer and beyond, and  about 70 teachers subscribed to the ArtyPantz newsletter. (If you would like to receive it, there is a place to sign up in the upper left hand corner of this blog.)

It was kind of interesting that most of the people there this year seemed to be predominately from the Philadelphia Public School District, such as from Head Start and the kindergarten programs though out the city. Who knows? I may be working with them at some point. We are talking about thousands of kiddos!

ArtyPantz Productions at DVAEYC Conference

I'm looking forward to having an ArtyPantz Productions LLC Booth at the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children annual conference this year at the Philadelphia Convention Center. My booth number is 219, so if you are there come by and say hello.

I was there several years ago, at that time only had the two mermaid shows for all ages.....and so many people called for shows. Now there are three more shows that are specifically for young children. Hooray 4 Bugs, Come Join the Rainbow and Going on a Sleigh Ride.
So it will definitely be good!

The booth is going to be so nice, just got a new banner made, rack cards and business cards. I will be using the same booth as the WrapADoodle booth, only with Artypantz stuff! The space can be divided up so that each show has it's own area. Will definitely take some pictures! Today is set up day. The actual conference is Friday and Saturday.

Yesterday I pulled a muscle in my leg while carrying things downstairs in preparation for the conference, and spent the rest of the day lying down with an icepack on it, and sucking down arnica tablets. Feeling considerably better today, but still kind of tentative.  Today my husband is going to take me down to the city and help me set up, because I can barely walk! Fortunately I can sit during the conference. :)

Hope to see you at the convention. Sign up for the ArtyPantz newsletter while you are there and you just may win a framed copy of the Rainbow print!

New Flyers for ArtyPantz!

Spent the past couple of days redesigning flyers for all the ArtyPantz Theatrical Storytelling Events. The idea is to have these on the ArtyPantz website so that my customers can print them and use them for publicity. The white spaces are there for them to customize. Just waiting for the web master to get them up on the website.
