Busy Summer for ArtyPantz Productions

Summer is just busy enough, bopping all around with storytelling events, plus some Mandala Workshops scheduled here and there.  Most of these events are at camps and schools so not open to the public.
However The Capture and Return of Bald Beatrice the Baby Mermaid is FREE and open to the public on July 19th at Springfield Mall.
Another public event is on July 28th at Upper Dublin Public Library and it's a Mandala Workshop for kids ages 6 thru 9. You must register for this.

Back to storytelling, I have been doing these 100% interactive events since 2003, and actually love it more than ever each year. I've done all the work writing the stories and making all the costumes, puppets, props etc. Now it's just a matter of loading it all up and driving somewhere and doing it!

Occasionally a fish puppet needs a new stick, or a strap comes off a rainbow pixie cape or a piece of corn comes out of it's stalk and needs to be glued in, etc.  But it is nothing compared to making it all in the first place, as in making hundreds of costumes, puppets, and props. For the most part they have all held up really well over the years.

There are six different stories and some of these handmade items can be used in more than one story, such as bears in one story are ground hogs in another.......

It can be challenging to keep the stories and matching puppets props and costumes straight since everything is packed into rolling have to open them all up and switch things around on a regular basis.

Anyway life is good, I am lucky to be doing something that is of my own making, that is enjoyable and enjoyed.

Happy Summer Everyone!
